Pricing Questions, Answered
Understand how quotations, starting prices, scope changes, revisions, payment, and ongoing estimating support are handled before work begins.
How much do construction estimating services cost?
Small, clearly defined single-trade takeoffs start from $200. Final fees vary according to the project documents, trade coverage, project stage, requested deliverables, pricing requirements, and delivery schedule. Multi-trade, BIM, conceptual, bid-support, and recurring assignments are quoted after review.
What does the “From $200” price cover?
The starting price generally applies to a small, clearly defined single-trade scope supported by current, legible project documents. Your written quotation identifies the exact documents reviewed, trade limits, deliverables, assumptions, exclusions, fee, and expected delivery date.
Why is multi-trade pricing custom?
Multi-trade assignments can involve several drawing disciplines, specifications, alternates, pricing inputs, coordination requirements, and reporting formats. Reviewing the package first allows the quotation to reflect the actual work rather than relying on an arbitrary square-foot rate.
Are addenda and revisions included?
Corrections to a demonstrable error within the expressly agreed scope are handled under the accepted quotation and Terms of Service. New drawings, addenda, changed assumptions, repricing, additional breakdowns, reformatting, or expanded scope are revisions and may require an adjusted fee or schedule. Any adjustment is confirmed before additional work begins.
Do you offer rush estimating?
Rush work may be available after the documents and requested scope are reviewed. Availability, any additional fee, and the expected delivery date are stated in the quotation. Rush service is not guaranteed.
Do you offer monthly or ongoing estimating support?
Yes. Ongoing support can be arranged around an agreed monthly capacity, service mix, trades, templates, communication process, and scheduling requirements. The exact plan is documented in a written proposal rather than described as unlimited.
When does work begin, and when is payment due?
Work begins after the written quotation is accepted and Vantage receives the required payment or authorization, current controlling files, confirmed scope, and necessary clarifications. Payment requirements and milestones are stated in the quotation or invoice.
Are estimate prices or bid results guaranteed?
The fee in the accepted quotation controls unless the documents or requested scope change. Quantities and costs are estimates based on the information available when the work is prepared. They do not guarantee supplier quotations, field conditions, final construction cost, bid acceptance, contract award, or project outcome.
