Renovation & Remodel Estimating

Takeoffs and cost estimates for existing-building projects, accounting for demolition, existing conditions, and phased work.

Estimating Built for the Realities of Renovation Work

Renovation and remodel projects come with variables new construction doesn’t: existing conditions, selective demolition, and work that has to happen around occupied space. Our estimates account for all of it, so your bid reflects the real scope, not just the drawings.

How We Prepare Your Estimate

Existing Conditions Review

We review drawings and, where available, site photos to understand existing conditions.

Demolition & New Work Takeoffs

Quantities are prepared separately for the demolition scope and the new construction.

Phased Cost Estimate

Costs are organized by phase where the project requires staged work.

Key Challenges Contractors Face

  • Underestimating demolition and existing-condition work that isn’t fully shown on drawings.
  • Pricing work that has to be phased around occupied space.
  • Scope surprises that surface once the walls come open.

Contractors trust our renovation estimates because we account for existing conditions and demolition up front, not as an afterthought that shows up as a change order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions contractors most often ask before requesting an estimate.

What types of projects do you estimate?

We prepare estimates for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects, from single-trade takeoffs to full multi-trade scopes.

What file formats can I upload?

You can upload PDF, DWG, and DXF plan sets, or Revit files. If your files are in another format, send them over, and we’ll confirm we can work with them.

How long does the estimating process take?

Most single-trade estimates are delivered within 24 to 48 hours. Larger, multi-trade projects typically take 3 to 5 business days, depending on scope.

How are estimates delivered?

Estimates are delivered as organized Excel workbooks and PDF reports, broken down by trade and CSI division for easy review.

Are project files kept confidential?

Yes. Every plan set and project file is handled under strict confidentiality, and we’re glad to sign an NDA before you share drawings.
